RYDE CHRISTIAN
HERITAGE WALK
SUNDAY 28 AUGUST, 2011
We invite everyone to join in to celebrate.
Details are:
DATE: Sunday 28th August 2011 (213 years since the first sermon preached).
TIME: 1.30pm
VENUE: St Columb’s Anglican Church, Bellevue & Dickson Aves, West Ryde as we celebrate and walk together to commemorate the first Christian sermon preached in Ryde.
OR
TIME: 2.15 pm approximately
VENUE: St Anne’s Anglican Church, Church Street, Ryde if you prefer not to walk.
As part of the program there will be a short historical talk, a re-enactment of the first sermon in Ryde (in period costume), followed by the laying of flowers on Rev Henry’s grave and a prayer of thanksgiving. This will be followed by an afternoon tea prepared by the Country Women’s Association.
After the initial program, there will be a concert that will include items from different churches.

Free swimming for Seniors!!
At the Council meeting last week the City of Ryde One Year Operational Plan 2011/2012 was adopted with a minor alteration to include free admission to RALC to all pensioners and health card holders upon the production of an appropriate concession card and proof of residency in the City of Ryde.
THIS MEANS there will be free admission to Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre, 504 Victoria Rd Ryde, for pension/healthcard carriers who live within the CIty of Ryde starting on 1 July. www.ryde.nsw.gov.au/ralc.htm |
